Somatic Explorations Workshops

|| WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION ||

Meryem Alaoui will be sharing and facilitating 3 Saturday afternoons of somatic explorations through movement, touch, voice, games, improvisation and embodied anatomy studies. This is open to anyone who has a body and who likes to move.

DAY 1
Senses – Inner/Outer Relation: we will look at the skull, the mouth, nose, ears, eyes and the skin to explore our relation to our self and the environment. We will look at the sense of touch and movement, and our ability to create bonds or defense in our process of learning.

DAY 2
Integration of the Autonomic and Somatic Nervous System: from background energy to pathways into manifesting and expression in forms.

“The parasympathetic supports sympathetic pathways, which carries the energy into somatic forms.” – Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen

Zone of Isoring – Blood Capillary Bed: we will connect to our blood, our venous and arterial flow, and the place of suspended rest, and lightly touch on its connection to the lymphatic system.
