FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN FOR ENSEMBLE

Jasad Dance Projects (Jasad) is lauching a fundraising campaign to raise funds for the creation and presentation of ENSEMBLE, a new dance work bringing together Moroccan, Canadian and Swiss artists and collaborators.

“ENSEMBLE” choreographed by Meryem Alaoui is a meeting of cultures where the collective and the individual find their way of coexisting in the bodies of an international cast of dance and music performers.

ENSEMBLE will premiere on May 27th, 2022 in Rabat, the capital of Morocco.

ENSEMBLE includes 3 Moroccan dancers (Manal Tass, Faouzi Mrani Soufiane, Salma Sadeq), 1 Canadian dancer (Ann Trépanier), 2 Moroccan musicians (Hatim Belyamani and Mourad Belouadi), 1 Swiss scenographer-lighting designer (Julien Brun), 1 French-Moroccan rehearsal director (Nezha Rhondali) and 1 Moroccan choreographer-dancer living in Canada (Meryem Alaoui). We are so lucky to work with each of these amazing collaborators.

We acknowledge the support of the Canada Council for the Arts for their financial contribution to ENSEMBLE.

We thank the HIBA_Lab for offering us a creation residency in their studio in Rabat.

We thank the Théâtre Mohammed V for offering us a technical residency on their stage and a venue to perform in, in Rabat.

We thank the Arab Community Centre of Toronto (ACCT) for offering their Middle Eastern cooking classes for our fundraising effort.

We would like to thank also the amazing artist Jasmine Hawamdeh for donating her art to our fundraising project. She also happens to be on the Board of Jasad!

We wouldn't be able to make this happen without their support and without your support through your pledges to the project ENSEMBLE.

Together, we can make this happen.

Please support ENSEMBLE with your backing and sharing about our Kickstarter campaign.
